Final Project

My final project was based around my life and fears or having and being diagnosed with diabetes. I have still not really accepted the fact that I have been diagnosed and am still pretty bitter. This was to help me overcome my fears and emotions of having this horrible disease. I wanted to show what I have to go through or deal with each day that I am alive. I hope this portrays enough emotion to help someone see how passionate I am about this and hope someone will want to learn more about what I go through.

Fears & Emotions:
Fear of Living in a Hospital:

Fear of Blood:

Fear of Needles:

Sick of Eating all of the Time:

Will I have children?

Fear of being lectured on my life:

Will my Children get it?

Losing a limb:

Losing my family and can't afford it:

Will I wake up tomorrow?

Assignment #7: Panorama Project

My Grandpa & Grandma Winter were both very respected people in Green River, WY. To this day if you say their names, people will know who they are and still have stories of them owning most of these places.

Embers Restaurant was one of the first places my Grandfather owned in Green River, WY. Embers was fashioned after a 60's diner which I only remember going to maybe twice in my life.

Clearview Bowling Alley is one of the fondest memories I have of my Grandpa Winter. He built it from the ground up, including the motel, bowling alley, and the storage units next to it. He owned this place for most of my childhood growing up. I remember staying at the Motel next door for New Years Eve one year. My Aunt Val & Uncle Larry bought us Sparkling Cider and Champagne glasses to help us ring in the New Year. Every time we went to go and visit him in Green River we always had to come here to eat. At about the age of 12 I went to stay with my family here and my Grandpa gave me a job for about a week. It was my job to go into the back to make sure that any of the pins that were stuck in the rotator were taken out so they could go back for cycling. I'm guessing this was not a good job for a 12 year old but my Grandpa thought I could do it.

This was my Grandpa's very last project before he passed away. It was supposed to be a building for his company with offices in it. Before he passed away they were able to get the metal frame up and thats about as far as it got. After he passed it stayed that way and since my Grandmother had developed cancer, no time was given to the building to finish. Later the land was sold to the city and now is to be the new Sheriff building.

My Grandpa and Grandma Winter both lay to rest in Green River. When my Grandpa had his funeral they broadcast it over a local television station so that people who couldn't make it could attend. Some of their family is still living there, however most have left the city for other things. Thinking back about it I think I only have only a handful of pictures of myself and them.

Assignment #6: Black & White Portraits

This is Taryn. She is in my English class and was not too keen about getting her picture taken. She was kind of hesitant. She said "I look scary and I haven't showered yet!" All I told her was... "Good thing no one has to smell you through the picture huh?!?!"

This is Jake. He was my 'stranger' photograph. He was more than willing to pose for his photo to be taken. He attended Paul Mitchell school and graduated. He was at the mall just shopping. He also participated in a photo-shoot a professor from UVU did with Paul Mitchell and really enjoyed it.

Assignment #5: Portraits, First Round

I really liked this assignment! Mainly because I love talking to people!!

This is Reilly. I worked with her at Macy's. This is her normal picture. She was texting her girlfriend at the time of this picture. I told her to act normal and like herself. This photo was taken right after she had donated over 20" of hair to Locks Of Love.

This is Brandon. He works at Zumies. He was dressed in skinny jeans, this blue/green button up shirt, a red and green Hawaiian print hat. I told him I liked his getup and he told me "I like dressing this way. Makes life more interesting." As I was walking around he saw me holding my camera and asked why I was carrying it. He told me that he wants to go into Filmography. He likes the production of films.

This is my self portrait. Most people would consider me as a "Good Kid". To make it so I am not 'myself' I decided to go for the "Bad Kid" look. I really enjoyed doing this and getting it all put together.

Assignment #4 - Color Theory

I had a love hate relationship with this assignment. I really enjoyed thinking about what I could put together for colors. However, when it came to the monochromatic color photo... that was horrible!!!

Complimentary:

I thought this was one of my best photos for this assignment. I really enjoyed taking these two pictures and love the idea of opening a bag of Doritos and having Cheetos in it. Lets be honest... we all love Cheetos just a little bit more.

Analogous:

This one I decided to try and use the shades next to eachother on the color wheel.

Monochromatic:

At first I tried to use the first Rubik's Cube to try and get the picture that I wanted and wasn't sure if that would count for the assignment. So then I switched to a different one and tried to get a few different shades of green on the cube. It didn't turn out so hot.
